MORE than ENOUGH
July 2011
Dear Friend,
More than enough….
…three words often spoken with a negative purpose. “I’ve had more than enough of your foolishness”, mom would say. Or the banker says, “You have more than enough debt.”
Imagine your life with more than enough from the other side of the coin…
…more than enough… family salvation
…more than enough… peace of mind
…more than enough… finances
…more than enough… health
Our God is a God of more than enough! Jesus came to give more than enough!
“I (Jesus) have come that they (YOU/I) might have life…. more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
How we see God determines how we receive from Him. Sadly many see God as distant and stingy. This could not be further from the truth! God wants to give us more than our cup can hold. That means more than we could possibly imagine.
“You (God) prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: You (God) anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.” (Psalm 23:5)
We can rejoice. God’s kind of more than enough exists in the face of enemies. Enemies are adverse circumstances: job turmoil, negative health reports, family division.
In your enemy’s presence God will make your cup run over. MORE THAN ENOUGH!
Jesus practiced this. His disciples were fishing all night. They caught nothing! Even their expertise failed them. You can probably relate.
Jesus told the disciples to cast their nets again (Luke 5:6-7). This time they caught so many fish their nets broke! With Jesus, even the negative conditions could not stop the abundant supply… MORE THAN ENOUGH!
Everything Jesus touched turned into more than enough.
5,000 men plus women and children had nothing to eat. Can you say “terrible problem”? Jesus was given a young boy’s five loaves and two small fish. Can you say “puny resources”?
Big problem and small supply, have you ever been there?
Fast forward to the end of this story. This hopeless situation ended up with 12 baskets full of food left over after all had eaten! MORE THAN ENOUGH!
Turn on the news and get more than enough bad report. Economic collapse, “super bug” outbreak, spreading wars, to name a few.
Focus on these long enough and our hearts and minds become very negative. Our view of God often is reflected in that same light.
Today it is possible that our view of Jesus stops His supply in our lives. Don’t think that those who were physically with Jesus had an advantage.
Jesus could not do any miracles in His own town (Mark 6). For the 5,000 men plus women and children, He gave MORE THAN ENOUGH. Yet, in Jesus’ own town, He could give them nothing.
Jesus’ own town saw Him as common. They couldn’t recognize His power to supply.
See Jesus as your source of MORE THAN ENOUGH ______. You fill in the blank.
Only our view of Jesus can stop this overflowing supply.
Adverse circumstances will attempt to change our view of Jesus. Turn to God’s word. Make a decision to put down the news and take up His word.
The Gospel in Israel will abound when every partner of Way of Peace, and those who are called to become partners of Way of Peace, give abundant gifts.
I thank Jesus for the partners that He has given Way of Peace Ministries. Every partner is of incredible value. That means you!
God has also called more to join together in this great task of Gospel advancement to Israel.
Allow Jesus to speak to your heart about financial partnership.
When it came to giving, Jesus said:
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over…” (Luke 6:38)
There it is again! MORE THAN ENOUGH, running over!
Whatever Jesus touches turns into more than enough. The same is true with our finances.
View Jesus as unconcerned about your finances, and that is all you will get. See Jesus as your source of MORE THAN ENOUGH, and receive finances running over.
